ORPC Will Put The RivGen In The Demonstration Project Site At Igiugig Alaska
The demonstration project in the Kvichak River, approximately 440 km southwest of Anchorage, Alaska, delivering power to shore at the remote village of Igiugig. The goal of this unit is to reduce the cost of diesel generated electricity in the community.
According to the Northwest National Marine Renewable Energy Center (NNMREC), the researchers from NNMREC will be going back to Iguigig with Ocean Renewable Power Co. (ORPC) to help optimize RivGen’s control system.
The acoustic measurements will then be presented at the European Wave and Tidal Conference in Nantes, France.
The RivGen power system is a 25 kW self-deploying submersible hydrokinetic system
